Buckinghamshire Council
Our clients were concerned by a planning application for a large, architect designed house which would sit on stilts within an area of incidental woodland at the gateway to their cul-de-sac.
We represented the family who lived next door to the proposed development and the woodland who engaged us to assist with objecting to the scheme.
Our Services
- Site visit and appraisal
- Researching the site constraints and relevant previous permissions
- Analysing national and local planning policy
- Engaging with local residents and considering the impacts on the amenity of the cul-de-sac
- Assessing the environmental impact of the proposal
Following this it was clear that an objection to the scheme was reasonable and justified. We prepared a set of objections based on design, tree removal, access, overlooking and loss of light to neighbouring property and highlighted out of date ecological information.
Outcome
Our objections were firmly based on national and local planning policy, law and knowledge of material matters tailored to the planning application.
Dacorum Borough Council went on to refuse the application. On behalf of our clients, we engaged successfully with the appeal process, which was dismissed.
